"I'm glad He lives inside me..."
That is what my niece said to me after she was baptized by Brian on Sunday. Oh, what a great weekend it was! I invited my niece, Hayley, to stay with us on Friday night and Grandma Janet on Saturday night. Of course, she was ecstatic and couldn't wait to be here with us.
So, Friday as I was tucking her in she asked me about baptism and Jesus. I explained to her what we believe based upon the bible. We read a few scriptures out of the bible that I was given by my aunt and uncle when I was 12(Good News Version). She said she understood, but was not ready to say the prayer. I told her that was okay and to simply let me know if she wanted to pray together or if she had more questions.
Anyways, we all had a great day together on Saturday and then she left to stay the night with Janet. Sunday morning(15 minutes before service) she told me that she asked Jesus to come into her heart on Saturday night!!! I have a group of ladies at church that have been praying for her salvation for over a year. My father-in-law prays for her every day as well. Oh, my heart could not have been filled with more joy! It was so precious.
So, I asked her if she would like to be baptized and she said yes. So, in 15 minutes, we called her parents for permission, talked to the Pastor and got her extra clothes and she was ready for baptism. It was awesome! And it was so great that Brian was able to do it. It was so special to me. Praise God for His goodness.

Graham Cracker
Here's Joel eating his first Graham Cracker. It was mommy's first experience sweeping around the highchair afterwards...that was lots of fun! Something new and exciting for me!!
He had his six month appointment this past week(which was actually 6 1/2 months) and his percentiles have totally changed. He's now 77% for height and 53% for weight. They basically flip flopped. My little chunker is slimming down. He only gained a pound and a half over the last 2 1/2 months, which is a much slower pace than the first four months. He's now 18 pounds, 2 ounces. I guess that happens when they become more active. All in all, he's doing great!

Home Sweet Home...
Although, I thoroughly enjoyed all of my travels over the last couple weeks, it's soooo nice to be home! Last week, we were in Ohio for a couple nights and went to a Detroit Tigers game for the day with our friends, the Labs. Sadly, they lost the game, but we still had a good time.
Friday, Joel and I flew to New York with my stepmom, Janet, for her mother's 80th Bday party. Her parents are just like grandparents to me, so it meant a lot to be there. Joel did really well. Although, he had a few meltdowns from sheer exhaustion. But it was worth the trip!

Grandma Janet & Joel
While there, I went to see a friend of mine who just moved back to NY, where she's from, and while we sat outside enjoying coffee at Dunkin Donuts, Joel stretched his traveling legs in the back of the car.
Enjoying his stretch!
Barb and I after a yummy banana split. Poor baby needs a nap!
