Refreshment in the midst of Winter Blues...

Yesterday I was feeling a little depressed. That isn't like me and I didn't enjoy it. I think the cold wintery days are finally on my last nerve. I'm ready to take the baby for a stroll through the neighborhood or go to the grocery without being concerned about bundling us both up.

This morning I went to our old church and joined a woman's bible study. Currently they are doing "A Heart Like His" by Beth Moore. It's a study on David's life. It couldn't have come at a better time. I left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed! God is so good and his word is alive and active. Today the discussion was about exhaustion and the need to retreat with God and not to weary yourself with service that does not fall under his authority...great reminder for a youth pastor's wife!!! Sometimes we need to just get away with God and enjoy his quiet covering.

Brian and I are headed to a National Youth Ministry conference tomorrow (Fri-Mon) hosted by Doug Fields for youth pastors and leaders. I'm hoping we will learn lots and get pumped up to mininster to our kids:) Have a blessed weekend!

Our women's Bible study is also going through a course under Beth Moore. That's cool. I didn't join because by the end of the work day and coming home to the kids, I am exhausted, and with Nik leading Wednesday night youth too. I know, I know, excuses.. I need to get motivated as well!! This weather always puts us in a slump though. YOur not the only one. :)

Yeah, I hadn't felt the slump yet...until yesterday! Yuck, we need spring. I know how hard it is to get to the study, I'm sure it's even harder with two kids and a full time job. If you have a chance next time to do the Beth Moore, try. I've done several in the past and they are so wonderful. Beth has an amazing way of taking you deeper in your walk:)

I understand your feeling down - probably a little overwhelmed with everyone else's needs. It's ok to feel that way - the Bible study sounds really good - I've never done a Beth Moore study but lots of friends have told me how good they are. I'll pray for you - thanks again for a wonderful meal and company last Sunday. Love you guys!
