A Simple Prayer

For the last week I've been thinking about getting an 'exersaucer' for Joel, as he'll be able to use it soon. Knowing that we can't afford to buy a new one, I've been making plans to hit a couple of big sales coming up in the month of April with childrens toys, clothing, gear, etc.

It dawned on me that I could try praying for God's provision for one. It seemed silly to pray for such a thing. Especially knowing that He promises to fulfill our needs, not necessarily our wants. As I lifted the prayer up(somewhat sheepishly), I remembered something I had read before living on one income. I was reading a book called "Living Well On One Income" by a Christian author. In this book, the lady talked about how she literally prays for every need: shoes, clothes, household products, etc. She gave an awesome testimony on His provision and faithfulness.

So...

the day after I prayed for Joel's exersaucer, a girlfriend from church called and said that she had an exersaucer/walker for me that she wanted to bring over! I could feel the tears of joy welling up inside. I told her the story and she was amazed as well. God is sooooo good! I am so excited to start praying for my needs before running to Wal-Mart and buying:-)

When Joel woke this morning, I let him know that Jesus got him an exersaucer!!!

Why do I feel encouraged & rebuked (by the Spirit, not you!) all at the same time? Thanks for your faith and your testimony! Love ya!
